This is one of the more difficult cookbook reviews I have written. Why? How is it possible to be critical of a book with excellent photos of outstanding-looking dishes that tease me so effectively as do Beef and Cabbage Stuffed Corquettes; Kielbasa Shish Kabobs; or Beef Stroganoff? Please pull up a chair and hear me out...The recipes, most accompanied with photographs, appear to be tantalizing. They appear to be fairly simple (don't confuse that with easy, if you are an inexperienced cook) and comprised of few enough ingredients for the average cook. So, that is not my complaint.There are no prep times, no cook times, and no nutritional analysis provided. Missing all this information would ordinarily result in no worse than a four star review, because the writing is good and the spreads, soups, salads and meals look THAT delicious.What is aggravating, though, is the formatting.Ingredients all are right-justified, while balance of the text is left-justified, making for a difficult to use reference. Further, often, we have parts of one recipe appear with parts of the following recipe, which causes further difficulty in use.BOTTOM LINEI hope the author will take note of these formatting issues. I have included screen shots to display my concerns. The pics were taken from my fifth generation iPad, but the same issues are evident when viewing using the Kindle app on my PC.Fix the formatting and it'll be at least a four star cookbook. Add in the other missing information and it'll be a solid five stars. This could, with no great effort, be a fantastic ethnic-food cookbook.I am striving to produce reviews that help you find books that you want, or avoid books that you wish to avoid. I work with a guy from Poland. I bought this book to cook for him. Everything I have made him so far he really likes and says it's close to how its made at home.

A great assortment of recipes,old from my Polish heritage and new ones to try. Want my family to experience their heritage as well. Recipes easy to follow, ingredients readily available.

If for no other reason, buy it for the pickle soup recipe. It really is amazing. I was a little disappointed it didn't have a recipe for czernina but overall it's all my family's go to foods.

The organization of the recipes is excellent. The ability to follow them without use of the language is very good. I love the wide selection of foods included.

Thee are lots of usable recipes for me in this book. An easier yeast roll recipe than mine.

The Nat'l Geo. maps are printed on a tyvek-like paper so hold up very well and are waterproof.This is a very important to dummies like myself traveling by motorcycle.While I like the maps, on the cover is says "revised regularly" ... but this map was last revised in 2010 and is missing some of the major additions that Mexico has made to their highway infrastructure in the last 8 years.

Map is nice, but it's dated 2010. There is at least one new road that does not appear on the map (between Puerto Peñasco and Bahía Kino), which concerns me as I don't know what else is missing. That new road shows up on Google maps, so perhaps with a combination of online and paper, this will work. Otherwise, durable design and fairly easy to read.

We have traveled extensively and relied on National Geographic (NG) maps in the past with great success. However, this particular map of Mexico significantly short of our expectations from NG maps. On our recent journey to Mexico we traveled to Puerto Vallarta and north to Punta Mita. We found the map did not include villages of interest to us such as Litibu, Bocas de Tamatlan, beaches at Mismaloya, to name just a few...These are locations that are of interest to folks that are interested in getting off the beaten track and they were excluded from the map. Basically, the map ended up being pretty useless to us when we desperately needed when driving our rental car without access to GPS. The bottom line is don't buy this map if you are counting on it to get you places of interest in Mexico. It's worthless in our humble opinion!

I'll be travelling copper canyon by motorcycle, and this map just did not have the level of detail I needed. I've tried to find a more detailed printed map of the area I'm looking for but not having luck. I thought this might be the ticket, but unfortunately it is all of mexico, and does not zoom in on the locations I need.

The Michelin map is much better. This map is pretty to look at, but detail is getting lost in the effort of making it look good. The Michelin cartographers are much better at showing information in a usable format.

I have traveled so much in Mexico I wanted to get a good map to put on a wall to map out where I've been. I bought 2, because the map is 2-sided. It covers a big wall. The paper is smooth, heavy and not too glossy making it easy to read.

Got this for my parents as we drove through Mexico, touring a few different places. It definitely came in handy as cell phone service was spotty in some locations. It had every town we went through, even the small ones. The map itself is lightly laminated and feels kind of like a magazine cover page. Perhaps the most helpful feature was the color coding so we knew which roads were the toll roads.

Good maps , they are missing of course the small roads but have most if not all major routes , more then enough to get you around

I'm not finished with it yet, but I've read enough of it that -- even if I never read another word -- it was worth the effort.Prior to my purchase of this book, I read 'A Teaching Seminar with Milton H. Erickson' which was a good book for getting to know the man and his personality. So, I'm glad I read it first. But this book is far and away the better book. It is the one to read as a training manual and in-depth study of Erickson and his techniques.

Erickson was a genius who revolutionized the field of clinical hypnotherapy. Rossi was Erickson's wordsmith, who edited and published his works in formats suitable for professional training. This book is volume 1 of a 3 volume set. out of print but worth the price of a used copy if you are a hypnotherapist wanting to add to your reference library

This was the very first book I read, many years ago, by Milton Erickson et al. I don't know what happened to it. but I just received another copy---hardcover, in excellent condition, and I've started re-reading it. And now I'm getting even more out of it than I did the first time!

Excellent book, easy to read and understand. Well written with great examples and is easy to learn from this book. I am very happy I found this book and look forward to reading more of his books.

As usual, I wasn't disappointed with this latest book in my collection of Erickson books. Easy to read and understand, it presents new (and old) information to strengthen the therapists skills and abilities to help clients. Highly recommended for any level of expertise.

This is an extremely practical guide. I love that it not only guides you through instructional design, but also gives great suggestions for activities that can be adapted to most classrooms and most ages.

For a textbook, it is not bad.

Wonderful ideas, explanations, and a great resource. This is a good book to have when choosing those "great choices" to have in the library.

The text presents research based ideas, but it is very targeted toward a more traditional classroom and does not address asynchronous, self-paced learning experiences.

OK, so I already own three other books on Polymer Clay. Did this book have information not contained in my other three books? Was this book's new information of sufficient quantity that I couldn't just memorize the new techniques and not spend the money?Billed on the back cover as the "ultimate polymer clay book," every page holds the same promise. This book demonstrates the absolute versatility of the polymer clay medium.Donna's organization of polymer clay techniques makes perfect sense. She starts with the basics, then explains canes and loaves, followed by a host of surface treatments. Mould-making is next, then there are Tory Hughes's imitative techniques for bone, stone, and coral. Donna gives liberal credit to Tory. Next, Donna hits on sculptural techniques in three chapters: vessels, floral forms, and figurines.Vernon Ezell's photographs are colorful and sharp, enhancing Donna's instructive text. You may have seen an article or two by Donna in Jewelry Crafts or Lapidary Journal magazines. This book contains all of her ideas from those articles and lots more.I pondered for four days whether I should spend the money for this book. I bought it. You should too if you already work with polymer clay or are considering whether you should start. It's a real inspiration!

Excellent step-by-step instructions with photos. Explained everything I'd been trying to figure out through reading other guides, and provided a lot of great tips that Donna has developed through many years of working with polymer clay. I eventually picked up some of the tools that she designed that no one else seems to offer (the Marxit is ingenious, if you plan on making beads or anything requiring some uniformity in sizing). Check out her website, as well - lots of tips and tools there, as well.

I got this book because it was suggested as THE reference book for polymer clay and I see why they say that. It covers the basics from terminology and where to start, what to expect from different brands of polyclay, and tools of the trade. There are more advanced tools and techniques described but I wish there was more step by step instructions and pictures. Plus the style of Kato's work isn't my personal preference so I only got limited inspiration from her works.

Good book for learning different techniques. I was particularly interested in the pottery section as I have made ceramic pottery, and now am learning how to do it in polymer clay. Love her books. Trying to get them all for my library. Definitely a nice book.

Let me be upfront right at the start: Donna is a friend of mine; I worked for her when she owned a bead store here in Chicago, and at the time when she first began to work with poly clay. I've edited her project pamphlets, and I know her work very well, and have always thought that it was some of the best clay work I've ever seen.This book is a compendium of so many techniques that it's difficult to know where to start. It's not a project-based book, so if you're looking for something to follow by the numbers, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for a lot of good, sound instruction on clay techniques, this is the book for you. Bring your own ideas and let Donna help you make them reality.I can vouch for the fact that she knows her stuff; I saw her creating many of these objects, teaching herself the strengths and weaknesses of polymer clay and learning how to push the boundaries of what could be done in the medium. She has the chops, and she's sharing them. Learn from her! You won't regret investing in this book.

This book,in my opinion, is one of Donna's best. It has all the basics for beginners without the unnecessary "this is clay" boredom. After what I believe to be HONEST reviews of the top clays on the market today, she has READABLE instructions for many techniques. And if that is not enough, her projects are user /reader friendly. Her projects are nice, not like so many books with their "way out" ideas. If you are a beginner...This is the book to get you started. If you are intermediate, this is the book with new & fun lessons. If you are advanced, this is a good reference book and teaching manual. This is now my #1 reference book. Life is too short not to have fun!

Great ideas and ways to get one started in Polymer Clay; however, I ordered it at the same time as the newer volume and felt this version was not as useful. Why? Only because of the more up-to-date information on tools and clay varieties. So purchase the newest volume if you want to keep up with the latest, particularly tools, like me!I am giving my mom the gift of the older volume since she is more focused on gift ideas...again, like I said were great plus creative. She will love this book as she doesn't care too much about the products and tools, like I am.No matter what, you cannot go wrong with either one. Enjoy Polymer Clay! What a great world to escape to!

I don't really care for most of the projects in this book. But it's by Donna Kato and since she is a pioneer for polymer clay, it will remain in my library for reference.
