These cruising guides have been the go to guide for the last 12 years at least. I suspect you'll see this book in over 90% of the boats sailing up and down the windward islands.I purchased the most recent version of this for a bareboat trip I did with my wife in the grenadines last month. The maps are great for getting into and out of harbor, and I the harbor details are perfect. I did not need any reach charts for this trip, because this guide is so good. If you have a gps and this book, you are good to go.I love the descriptions of all the harbors and suggestions of activities at each stop. This book is essential to anybody planning on going cruising in the Caribbean!

I like the fact that they are warning us about dangers beyond the water. I haven't sailed there yet but the book is laid out like the guide for the BVI'S.

We spend the winters in the Caribbean every year and we would not set off without the full set of cruising guides from Chris Doyle.

Very useful especially the detailed descriptions of the bays and harbors, photos gave a good complementary view and feel for the area. Some facts were though missing, e.g. that Mustique is closed for visitors during 3 periods of the year.

I was ripped off by this seller! This is at best a $39.00 cruising guide. Not the chart set I ordered for $193.00!!

It has been carefully compiled and includes all the information which any water-borne visitor will need to know when visiting the Windward Islands., These are (in the order they appear in the book); Martinique, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Bequia (pronounced Beckway), Mustique, Canouan, Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Palm Island, Union Island, PSV and Petite Martinique, Grenada, Carriacou, and, of course, each of the passages between these enchanting islands.In an informative introduction, which gets anyone who is sitting in a cold house during an American or European harsh winter (like I am!) wanting to reach for the phone and book a flight, we learn something about the local land and the customs of the people who live there. There are also a number of helpful suggestions on any topic from "what to bring" to sunburn - and it's all useful stuff, even for the seasoned traveller.Then it's on to the cruising information with notes on weather and navigation as well as more general information about scuba diving, flora, fauna and even the flags of the different countries visited. From now on we get down to cases in the order of march already mentioned.Telling people how they should navigate their boat is a very responsible undertaking. Forget to include that, otherwise well known, underwater obstacle and you can guarantee at least 3 boats will have hit the darned thing within the first 24 hours of your book being published. This book, however, is a professional work and I doubt any yacht or other small boat travelling to and from these small islands will be without a copy.NM

We used this guide extensively and found it to be invaluable..it contained specific information about water depth, including maps. This is so important as there are alot of shoals in the Windwards. We also found this guide to contain all kinds of info about restaurants, customs locations, farmers markets and good places to shop.

How is it possible that this book costs $899.00 brand new?!! We have the 2007-2008 version we received from the Moorings and I KNOW it didn't cost them that much!

Fa-Long Luo, Element CXI, San Jose, CaliforniaDr. Fa-Long Luo is an IEEE Fellow and the Chief Scientist of two leading international companies, headquartered in Silicon Valley, dealing with software-defined radio and wireless multimedia. He is also an Affiliate Full Professor at the University of Washington.  From 2007 to 2011, he was the founding editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Digital Multimedia Broadcasting. From 2011 to 2012, he was the chairman of the IEEE Industry DSP Standing Committee and technical board member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. He is now associate editor of the IEEE Access and IEEE Internet of Things Journal. He has 33 years of research and industry experience in signal processing, multimedia, communication and broadcasting with real-time implementation, applications and standardization and has gained international recognition. He has published 5 books, more than 100 technical papers, and has 18 patents in these fields.  He was awarded the Fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany.Charlie (Jianzhong) Zhang, Samsung Research America, USACharlie (Jianzhong) Zhang is Vice President and head of the Standards and Research Lab with Samsung Research America at Dallas, where he leads research and standard efforts for 5G cellular systems and next generation multimedia networks. I haven't read the book myself, but my 8 year old daughter loves anything written by Raina Telgemeir and this book wasn't a disappointment.

I didn't buy this for my kids, I just bought it for myself. I gulped this book down in one quick sitting, and it was a wonderful reading experience. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is warm and engaging. Great reading for kids and adults alike.

I loved it! I Found it interesting and now I want to meet a ghost!!!👼 me and my rabbit rate it 5555555555 million stats!

I bought this book for my 8 year old daughter after hearing the author discuss it on NPR. I pre-ordered it not knowing much other than it was a child's graphic novel about Dia de Las Muertos. (I hope i got that right!) My daughter is a huge fan of the Far Out Fairy Tale series of graphic novels. When I received this in the mail, I was shocked at how large it was! It's the size of a small novel. My daughter isn't the biggest fan of reading, but this book got her reading before school, without being asked to. She finished it in 3 days! I am thankful I heard the author talking about this book, and I will be looking into more books like it.

My kids immediately rock paper scissored to see who gets to read it first, big hit!

Wow, this is so much fun. Raina has woven such a cool story and set it in a town that is a bit like Santa Cruz, a bit like Half Moon Bay (which she said inspired it), and a bit like a lot of coastal towns in Northern California.I suppose the title gives it away, but yes, this is a story of ghosts, but it is also a story of childhood, which Raina does so well. It is a story of illness, but also of family. It is a story of fitting in, and not fitting in.As usual the drawings are fantastic, and although she said it was inspired by Half Moon Bay, it seems to be more like Montara, a little further north. Also, I am quite sure she went to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, as that looks so close to how it looks it is as though I am walking with the two sisters.I don't want to give anything away, but if you like Raina's other books, you will probably enjoy this one as well.

Cross-posted on Tween Book BlogWhy I picked it up: Raina Telgemeier is another one of those authors that I will read anything she writes forever.Why I finished it: Telgemeier has a unique ability to take sensitive subjects and situations and create stories about how we can muster the courage to take the next step forward and recover from our own shortcomings. Ghosts deals with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that can cause a buildup of mucus in the lungs which can lead to other serious respiratory problems. Telgemeier takes us inside the lives of these two fictional sisters to explore the very real issues that individuals and families with loved ones batting cystic fibrosis must be aware of on a constant basis. It's a struggle for Cat to have to share her life with her sister, but she has also taken on the role of protector which perhaps prevents her from having to deal with her own fears. The festival of Dìa de lost Muertos that the town participates in each year (and is celebrated worldwide, usually around the same time as Halloween) helps Cat begin to put some perspective about how we celebrate life and how to live her life to the fullest. She knows Maya's cystic fibrosis will only get worse as she gets older, and at one point Maya asks her parents why she shouldn't make the most of the time she has now while things aren't too bad. Death is a weighty subject to be sure, but Telgemeier seems to arrange the notion in a context that is perhaps not so scary and foreboding to the reader. Thanks to the softness of her art style and the wonderful colors by Lamb, the story still has a lighthearted, wholesome feel to it - like having a conversation with a close friend. Ghosts is a story about how we connect with our family both in life and in death, and how they can give us the courage to keep going when the odds are against us.

My 9 year old daughter had been anxiously awaiting the release of this book. She loves all of Telgemeier's books so this was definitely on her list to read next. I decided I wanted to read it first since I wasn't sure of the subject, and I loved it! Then my 9 year old read it in a day, and also loved it. Then my 8 year old decided to read it too, also in a day, and now my 6 year old has picked it up. Definitely a winner in my house!

This is a very good book. It was a little bit slow to begin with, but got a lot better. If you are a lover of historical romance with Indians kidnapping women and taking them to their village, then you will love this book. I really enjoyed this book. Thanks for another great book.

Really enjoyed this book. First one I have read by this author. Will most definitely read more. She had me captivated since the start, and it only got better as each page I turned.I am a big Indian Romance non fiction reader and really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of her books.

Wow what a great book this book deserve 10 stars.such a great author love all her books I read so for. Love Tess such a firecracker did not take nothing from no one not even Raven but he was the only one she love.

The story is very predictable. It is hard to imagine some of the events because of a lack of terrain description.

Over all ok. Was a lil annoyed with the back and forth with tess and her back n forth feelings for raven. Over all a good read.

This was a great book I could hardly put it down. The story was told so beautifully. I felt like I was there.
