Kevin Henkes did it again! My 6 year old loved reading this to me tonight. He loved the surprise!! He is my youngest and I don't know what I am going to do when he grows out of Henkes picture books. I, of course, will still buy them. Some of my fondest memories of my kids with books involve Kevin Henkes picture books!

SUCH a cute book! My 3 y/o twins love this story. It teaches simple words with basic repetition, and has very simple, non-overstimulating pictures. Great Easter gift if you need one, or just really an anytime book!

This is a beautiful book full of fun and surprises. The pastel drawings are sweet and the story is delightful. This book was a wonderful new find for our grandchildren and is a new favorite as a new baby gift.

The illustrations are so beautiful! Great little read for a toddler, I bought it for my 21 month olds easter basket. Also a great book to get a conversation going with students about how pictures can tell a story.

Once again, Henkes delivers. The class of four years old,with whom I shared this, were delighted!The drawings, the sweet spring colors, and the word repetition drew in my audience and invited participation.

I wish you could've heard the squeals from all the 6 year olds at our birthday party when they saw this book!!! T'is so hard to believe that KHenkes has reached 50 titles!! And this basically wordless picturebook is such a pinnacle of all his others!! Congratulations, Kevin!!!

I love Kevin Henkel books and have been a fan for years. This one is perfect for a lap story so the child can really get into the illustrations.

I've walked with Jesus a long time and as I get older, I long more and more for our Home. I've read different books and commentaries on, but this one....I hardly have words. It has literally changed everything about my daily interactions with people, my various struggles large and insignificant (annoying people at the airport, for instance), how I pray, my understanding of scripture, purpose, how I spend my money. Literally everything. There is a feeling in the pit of my stomach like the butterflies you get as a kid when you know 'tomorrow you are going to an amusement park' or the night before Christmas. I think this must be what true, genuine hope feels like. I feel like I have this great secret and I'm bursting to tell people.... indeed, I have brought it up in nearly every conversation I have had since reading it. I rarely read a book twice but I'm going back in to see if I missed anything the first time.I read Sacred Romance about 18 years ago, and that, too, was life changing. I feel like we've come full circle. I am grateful for the wisdom and insight God has given John.

I pre-ordered this book a few weeks ago and received an instant online copy when I ordered it. I read it straight through in a matter of hours. The hard copy will arrive today and I'm excited to begin my second reading of it. Very impactful. Reading it felt like waking up.In his book, John describes the coming Kingdom and the renewal of all things. My understanding of "the ending of the age" had, up till now, been very bland and colorless. Not something I could put my hopes into because it actually filled me with hopelessness. This never ending church service in the sky idea that I had been taught time out of mind had been draining me of all excitement about Jesus' return. Not anymore. John's truth-filled, brilliantly written book has restored life and color to my understanding. His description is "deeper and nearer to mortal heart; marvelous and yet not strange," as Tolkien wrote. The coup de gras to the hopelessness that I have been battling. There is so much more coming! And that truth has filled me up with joy and expectancy. Thank you so much, John.If you are hungry and hurting, needing hope, and aching for a deeper understanding of the Kingdom, read this. It will change your life.

For a few years now, I have been very interested in understanding what will happen in the end according to Christian theology. I am not talking primarily of various eschatological views, but of our eternal future in the end. Several authors, such as N. T. Wright, Randy Alcorn, and even Dallas Willard have contributed to my understanding that what we normally think of as “Heaven” falls far short of what Scripture seems to say. In reality, we are not going to live somewhere “out there,” but right here, on Earth. A new Earth with no weaknesses or sin, to be sure, but Earth all the same.When I saw an offer to preview and promote John Eldredge’s new book "All Things New," I jumped at the chance to read and review it.Eldredge’s main point is that we must have an accurate understanding of what eternity will be like if we hope to have it influence our lives here and now. He tackles what Earth will be like, the fact that evil will be overthrown, and what we will do forever once everything is restored. And he does so in a very readable way.Let me address those who have read much on this before. For those who have studied the issue, you will probably not find anything strikingly new here. You will also not find as much Scripture referenced as you would in a book by Alcorn, for example.What you will find is what, in my opinion, Eldredge is known for: painting a picture in a very elegant way. Where other books offer perhaps a deeper, more theological and Scripture-saturated understanding of the future, Eldredge also uses movie and story references and takes a cue from them to help us imagine what things will be like. That is not to say that he never uses Scripture; he does. But it appears that Eldredge wants us to take more time to dream and imagine about what everything will be like, to get us to desire it from what we imagine it will be like.It is here that Eldredge succeeds. Let me provide just one example from the book:“If you woke each morning and your heart leapt with hope, knowing that the renewal of all things was just around the corner–might even come today–you would be one happy person. If you knew in every fiber of your being that nothing is lost, that everything will be restored to you and then some, you would be armored against discouragement and despair. If your heart’s imagination were filled with rich expectations of all the goodness coming to you, your confidence would be contagious; you would be unstoppable, revolutionary.“Friends–don’t let anyone or anything cheat you of this hope; it is your spiritual lifeline. You have barely begun to take hold of it. Do not let anything diminish the beauty, power, and significance of this hope above all hopes. Jesus lived the way he did in this world, for this world, because his hope was set beyond this world; that is the secret of his life…” (p. 200; emphasis in original).Amen! One can’t help but be stirred by the above. And that is Eldredge’s claim to fame, in my opinion: the ability to stir us up in our imaginations and get us excited again. Whether he is writing about prayer, the heart, holiness, or, now, the renewal of all things, Eldredge has a way of making us desire again.I believe the best way to develop our understanding of the future is to take the more theological works and combine them with the imaginative ones, blending them together to create a Scripture-founded hope that resides deep within us. Eldredge’s new book is a great addition to this goal.*Note: I was provided a complimentary advanced copy of the book by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

One of those books that found ME. The concept immediately hit a nerve and demanded further exploration. Eldredge paints a moving picture of the Great Restoration: the dramatic renewal and healing of the Earth (as well as all creation), and what our role is in this redemptive work. I imagine this image has unique value to those who cannot bear the endangering Evangelical ideology that this world is not our home – it’s just a temporary rest stop that will ultimately be discarded like a needleless Christmas tree.I have such deep issues with the popularized Evangelical concept of life after death as “celestial retirement” that I generally stay away from all contemporary literature on the subject. It’s vapid and simplistic, and it’s lost the ability to hold my attention. However, I do not regret making an exception and reading through Eldredge’s depiction of the New Earth.Recommended for anyone who loves this Earth, the myriad creatures that call it home, and wants to grow in the hope that God will renew and heal all creation.

Nate does not disguise this book as a magical tome that grants its readers the ability to solve any river rescue scenario. Rather, he directly speaks to his readers, urging them to recognize the high risks of running rivers and the necessity of honing our river rescue "tools" through frequent practice. This book provides great refreshers on techniques and mechanical systems that any seasoned boater will appreciate. At the same time, the NOLS River Rescue Guide serves new paddlers with a superb introduction to the realm of river rescue.

Just in time for the holidays, I got this book. I love Paula Deen's show and her cookbooks always have amazingly simple dishes to prepare.The author's personal stories and remembrances are what really made this book for me. As a girl from the south, these recipes are like things your Mammaw and Mama used to cook up for the family for a special occasion.These recipes aren't necessarily things that you would eat in your everyday meals; they're for celebrations. If you're looking for a Southerner to eat tofu and bean sprouts for Thanksgiving, you've got it all wrong and would do better with buying another book. I prefer my tofu marinated in soy sauce and stir fried with pea pods and broccoli, but I'd rather have a turkey and all the trimmins for Thanksgiving.The recipe book, and I hesitate to call it that because it's more of an entertaining book, has wonderful meal planning recipes and ideas for celebrating with your family & friends. Although I'd have loved more entertaining ideas, maybe next time, Paula?

All of Paula Deen's cookbooks are excellent, but this one is especially nice in that the recipes are organized by holiday/event. So, if you want traditional recipes associated with Thanksgiving, you just turn to the Thanksgiving chapter and everything is there!

Gave it as a combo-gift. My sister seemed to love it. She kinda skipped out on Dirty Santa after she opened up this one. So was too busy reading the books. Only contribution after that was the occasional "I am going to have to try that" or "Ahh, that sounds good" from her corner of the room.

I recieved the Paula Deen Celebrates Cookbook the day before it was due. I absolutely love her cookbooks. The recipes are easy to follow, and ususally made with ingredients that most people have in their kitchens. I've already made a few, like the Humingbird Cake, which was a hit with my husband and grandchildren.

Just love this book! Paula shares great recipes with photos and family stories. This book is very entertaining, informative and a good read even if you don't feel like cooking. YOU ARE GREAT PAULA!

I purchased two copies of this book ~ one for myself and one for a gift. Not only is this an excellent cookbook, but it's especially appropriate for another good cook who's celebrating a special occasion. The "Best Wishes" included in the title make it a GREAT Birthday gift for a friend! The recipes are delicious, but simple enough to prepare for any special occasion. I will buy more of these for future gifts spreading "Best Wishes" to all my favorite cooks!

The Aslan Academic Planner is great for students and anyone with a busy schedule.The planner starts with a variety of spreads at the beginning followed by monthly and weekly spreads. The yearly calendar has very small boxes, but it’s great for writing down all your assignment, exams, projects, etc. and having them all on one page. The monthly spread is very spacious and allows for maximum planning for the month. The weekly spread has two different lists, one with check marks and one with just lines, that’s great for prioritizing your busy day. I like to have a to do list and an assignments list.The planner itself has a beautiful cover. It’s printed on high quality card stock with a protective layer on top, so you don’t have to worry about damaging the cover. When you open the planner and fold down the cover, it doesn’t damage the binding as well.The pages are slightly rough, but you can still easily write and do brush lettering on it. Depending on what kind of pens and/or markers you use, ghosting and bleeding can happen. You can also see some ghosting from the printed spreads on the pages itself.Overall, for the price you are paying, it’s a good planner, and you are getting a planner that is functional and great for staying organized. I would recommend this planner for those that need an affordable planner.

This planner is just perfect for students; cheap, light and extremely useful. It'd fit perfectly into your backpack or handbag. There is plenty of space to write daily short notes, appointments, assignments and reminders. There is also space to write about the yearly events in school or college. This is perfect for any student striving for high efficiency and productivity by keeping track of their schedule. As a bonus, there are spaces where you can write your goals and focus for the start of every month. At the last few pages are where you can write all your friends', family's and acquaintances' birthdays. Plus, the cover art is super pretty! For a less than $10 schedule planner, I'd say this a pretty good deal. As a student, keeping a proper schedule is a good and productive method to stay on track, which definitely helps with your academic progress in the long-run. Writing in a planner doesn't even take more than an hour of your time, so start getting productive today!

This cute planner comes with so many calendars, it would be impossible for you to miss out on things! It is beautifully made and I can tell that the brand really put a lot of thought in making sure that they produce a product that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. There’s a 2-page calendar for Cctober-December and I find that to be really convenient since you can mark all the important dates throughout the semester and look at them in a glance. Even in the age of Google Calendars, I think that having a physical planner is more convenient and personal compared to digital ones. For every month there’s a spread for goals and plans for the month, and that small touch of personalization is what makes me prefer having a physical planner over simply digital ones. I do wish that they would include more graphics on the pages since they are pretty plain, but I guess they’re just giving me a chance to doodle on the pages myself!

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much with this, but I was really surprised! It was a really nice price, and is highly functional! I picked this one because I loved the cover, and it is a really nice size. It has a monthly view, a monthly goals page, Email and passwords page. It also has plenty of room for daily checklists and notes. I actually use this as a Homeschool Planner for my son and it is perfect!

I really love the layout and the simplicity of this planner. I was currently using an Erin Condren, but it was just too big for taking with me every day. This one is perfect size and thickness. My only complaints are the paper quality has a lot of ghosting from my pens, and the cover could be a bit more sturdy. I anticipate that the corners will be a little worn by the end of the year.

This planner is amazing, and it is cheaper than my older planner. The cover is so beautiful and very attractive. I am attracted to this planner because the design is different from other planner and I never seen a planner with this beautiful design. I also love that this planner has monthly goals page that will help me to see what I should expect for that month in one page. It has monthly focus, two goals for that whole month and goals for 10th, 20th and 30th day of the month so that I can monitor my goals if it is achieved or not. I like the size because it is not too small to write on and will fit in my schoolbag without crushing it for being smaller than my other books. The monthly pages also big enough that I can easily write my plan on the boxes without worrying that I’m taking too much space.

I did not expect much from this planner because it is so much cheaper than the usual planner you can get from the market but IT IS GOOD! I put my old planner away after I got this. The cover is beautiful and feels so nice when you touch it. The thing I like the most about this planner is that it is so simple and the monthly planner is so big! I had problem fitting a few things into a box (day) with my previous planner but I have no problem with this at all! Its simplicity makes it looks clean and you can easily decorate it as much as you like. This is a planner for everyone. It is nice and simple for those who do not want to spend time decorating their planner and also for those who want to put a lot of colors in their planners. You can do whatever you want with this planner.
