I have all of the authors books and i love them all. He says what others think only with an artist flair.

When a friend told me she needed to de-stress by coloring cuss words because she was dealing with some major family problems - I immediately started researching - the reviews on this sold this for me - after she showed it to another friend who I also wanted to order a coloring book for cause that's her new passion -she wanted it and I ordered her one - I asked my son if he wanted to try this new coloring phase that's spreading across the country while he is visiting from college, we can color while sitting on sun porch and chatting- he said "um, don't know" I showed him this book and he was like "OMG! GET ME THAT ONE!!" (laughing) Hey if it makes you laugh which relaxes you - I'm all for itThis is a fun idea - he is a creative artist like my other boys and this is not stressful - you do not feel like you have to do it a certain way so no anxiety over 'how it should be done' - he had fun picking different colors - - If I were a mom of boys who did not talk much - I'd find this a great idea for seeing how much more comes out of the conversations during the coloring/talking process. My boys talk about everything with me so I won't know on this but I wanted to see if it was an interest for him since he is going in to a major hard-core college and cussing is an outlet for kids - this makes them laugh - while he was coloring - he mentioned I use this word often in my live gaming - I said - just hold the pic up to the camera every time someone annoys you (besides cussing) See if they start laughing - be funny to see how many young ones say "where'd you get that?! I want one!"Coloring does get them talking - he wanted to go buy more colors while working on this photo I am sharing with you.

 I spent a couple hours reading all the reviews for all the different adult swear word coloring books. Out of all of them I chose this one because my expectations were high due to all the reviews, and..... I was NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! Love this book. I am new to the adult coloring trend. I have been finding it very relaxing. There are multiple reasons I like this swear word coloring book out of all of them I have seen and used. 1. I love that there are 40 different swear words in this book. Some books ave 10 or 20 but that's it. Not with this book... 40.... yep 40 different words!! 2. I love that each of the 40 different words are done in black and white on one page and in grey scale on the 2nd page. So you actually get 80 pages to color and each swear words gets a totally different look depending on if you color the black and white page or the grey scale page. 3. The quality of the paper is awesome. I will say I am new to this and have only done a couple in this book and have notice the ink of the design has bled a bit. That is the only thing I did NOT like about this book. Overall I would recommend this book if are looking for a great quality swear word coloring book. This book is THE BOMB!!

Awesome heavyweight paper oh, I wish it was perforated to tear each page out to color. I've got several of these framed on my wall and looking forward to coloring more as I work in a call center and these pages express the things I wish I could say out loud to my jerk callers! Jkjk, but mostly seriously!

I only recently started this whole "adult coloring" thing, so when I decided to get coloring books I took a long time deciding what to get. I went with two books, and this was one of them. Although the pages DO NOT come out (they are not perforated) I still really like it. I love that the pictures are pretty even though the words are swear words. Some of the words I had never even heard, and I am married to a military man! I have been able to remove the pages VERY CAREFULLY using an exacto knife, but I advise extreme caution if you decide to do this. I do this so that I can color to the very edge of the pages. If you are looking for a coloring book that has nice pictures, but will help release some of that anger . . . I recommend this one!

I've been wanting a swear coloring book for awhile, so when I bought this one I was eagerly waiting for it. Once I received it, I knew I was going to have a lot of fun. The designs are great and the words are beautifully written. I know I am going to love the contrast between a beautifully colored page with a harsh word scrawled across.I would have given this book 5 stars, however there is something that seemed off to me. On the first page of the book it says that you get 4 bonus pages to color. I took this to mean 4 new designs. However once I got the email with the bonus pages, it was 4 of the same pages that are already in the book. So not new designs, just some bonus pages of the same designs already paid for in the book. I do think bonus pages should mean new designs, since it is fairly easy to copy pages from the book with a printer to make as many "bonus" pages as you want.

This coloring book is everything I never knew I needed. I have seen adult coloring books floating around for quite a while and read how they've helped people center themselves and deal with anxiety, depression, stress, etc. As somebody who is a soldier in that war, I scoffed. "No way." I thought. But then, I saw this. How do you not buy this? It's funny, it's unique, and it's cheap. I figured I'd take a shot.You guys, I'm about to be dramatic. THIS CHANGED ME. I am a kid all over again and I'll be damned if my coloring pages don't make it up on the fridge right next to my son's.I absolutely love that the pages are black. It adds an aesthetic contrast that is extremely appealing. (plus, if I don't always make it in the lines after that second glass of wine, who's gonna know?) The pages are nice and thick and the images themselves are detailed and time consuming, which I really enjoy. It's really nice to take a break from the day and just spend 15-20 minutes doing something so simple and so calming. Really glad I decided to get in on this trend.

Donald R. Prothero has taught paleontology and geology for almost four decades. He is adjunct professor of geological sciences at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, adjunct professor of geology at Pierce College, and research associate in vertebrate paleontology at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. His Columbia University Press books include Bringing Fossils to Life: An Introduction to Paleobiology (third edition, 2013); The Story of Life in 25 Fossils: Tales of Intrepid Fossil Hunters and the Wonders of Evolution (2015); and Evolution: What the Fossils Say and Why It Matters (second edition, 2017).

This excellent book explains complex ideas clearly without sacrificing accuracy. Very well written and illustrated. Highly recommend this book and it’s topics.

Wonderful read. The History of the Earth in 25 Rocks is a heck of a lot of fun to read, even though some of the chapters don’t have an actual rock specimen, like the chapter on Transform Faults. The book is really more about the history of geology and the growth of our understanding about it. It includes delightful stories about the people who helped figure it out. Some of which even I didn’t know (MIT Biology/Math with minor Geology, 1975 - so I did have a chance to meet some of the people he talks about.). The only caveat is Mr. Prothero sometimes needs an editor to check his math. (E.g. 10 miles per second is 36,000 miles per hour.). Otherwise great fun, inspiring, informative. Well done.

The book tells some of the greatest geologic stories in Earth history. Don Prothero is an excellent historian as well as a super geologist. His research is impeccable. Great book for armchair geologists or pros.

Very well written. I am a professional geological engineer and I loved it. Great job.

The backstories, mini biographies of the scientists, were great. I wish there were a few more chapters. I'll read the book again.

Enjoyed reading this immensely. Wonderful, informative and thought-provoking summaries of a vast body of geological research written for anyone with even a casual interest in the earth sciences. Should be part of any middle and high school science curriculum. This old lady found it fascinating!

Have had this author’s book on fossils for years and am just reading this one now but enjoying just as much. Great for any science teacher, but clear enough for anyone- he is talented at explaining science and methods.

This non-fiction book easily held the attention of my children ages 6-11 years old. Every evening when I put the bookmark in, they begged for just a "one more day". Although the book has four lengthy chapters, it is also divided up into days in a journal format. The original quotes from the explorer's journals are added in with the author's description of the day's happenings. As another review said, the author does a great job making the reader aware of the difference between conjecture and historical fact where Seaman, the dog, is concerned.I did not give it five stars because there were several places in the writing where the verb tenses shifted from present to past tense or vice versa within the paragraph, making it just slightly confusing as to whether the author was speaking or the author was quoting an original journal entry. I just felt a little more editing would have made it even that much better.All in all, well worth the read. It has earned a place on our shelf.

A very well organized, enjoyable, and informative book. The author does a good job of explaining which parts of the story are true history and which parts are fictional. Although fast-paced and fun, this book is packed with accurate information about the Corps of Discovery. The only reason I did not award five stars was that I didn't think the story matched the title. I didn't get the feeling that Seaman, the dog, was central to the story. However, I would still highly recommend this book to parents and teachers who want their children to learn about Lewis and Clark in a way that they'll remember.

While this was required reading for a required college course, and I have ZERO interest in the subject matter of this book, (sorry!) I really enjoyed reading it. My mind and world-view was greatly expanded. What could be dry material is entertaining and well written. I'm glad they "MADE" me read this. I have referred back even after that class was over.

The bible of one of the worst and slickest economic cults ever devised, globalism as designed by the oligarchs. A recipe for disrespecting the middle and lower classes and concentrating political, economic, educational and information power in the hands of a very few families who mean us no good. Exactly what the Founding Fathers warned us about and we missed our cue to act. Too late now. We let Grover Norquist drown our democracy in his bath tub. To cleans your mind, follow with Naomi Klein's, The Shock Doctrine, and Sam Pizzigati's, The Rich Don't Always Win. It will probably take a year to finish Shock Doctrine but is well worth the time.

This book addresses some of the difficulties of globalization the study of which is especially pertinent today when the world seems to be shifting to isolationism and populism. The pendulum had maybe swung too far towards the Lexus at the expense of the Olive Tree and people want change from the status quo, all over the world. These very issues are addressed in this prophetic book. Thanks for another great read, Tom Friedman!

Amazing book! After reading it you you start to question if it was actually written at the end of the 1990s.It is impressive to see how clearly Thomas Friedman does what he also calls Information Arbitrage in pulling episodes and events from disparate parts of the world and in a wide variety of topics into one cohesive world view: globalization.The framework he proposes for globalization is the simplest and most useful I've ever read about and it sure made me understand much more of our world.A wonderful work of research, analysis and specially of writing went into this book.Funny thing: the book is super current even though it never mentions Google (because it was just a tiny company at the time).I'm already reading "The World is Flat" by the same author. The globalization of the world's economy is a phenomenon of the world after the demise of the Soviet Union. Friedman gives a brilliant tour de force of the causes and results of worldwide financial markets acting in accordance with their own perceived self-interest, bestowing wealth and new investment in countries based upon their potential to return a profit to investers. But he also describes what happens when the "Electronic Herd" of investors get spooked by unanticipated threats to their investments. Because countries differ widely in their ability to absorb and efficiently use investment capital, there are wide fluctuations in investment, with consequential social and economic damage as capital moves across national boundaries with the speed of a mouse click. Friedman uses an anecdotal approach it illustrate his points, and in the end, they coalesce into his principal themes, that predictability, transparency, and accountability are the standards against which all investment will be measured, and those who are unable or refuse to abide by these norms will suffer accordingly. He also analyzes the impact of these fluid financial markets on traditional societies, and the tensions that fluidity impose on the traditonal order of things. People want both the wealth that the new order brings, but also want the community and values that this financial fluidity tend to undermine. Striking a balance between hopes and dreams for a secure future, and protecting traditional community values, and providing a safety net for those who are unable to compete will be the principal tasks of political and financial leaders now and in the distant future. This book should be on every thinking person's reading list as a Must Read.

Has some really yummy recipes great cooking/kitchen tips. Especially liked the Thai It Up Chicken Soup...definitely a feel good comfort food with a little different take on traditional chicken soup. Each recipe gives nutritional content breakdown which is great. Not every recipe has a picture but the ones that do are beautifully illustrated. Makes a wonderful gift.

I saw this book in my doctor's office this week and immediately went home to order it. Quick delivery from Amazon as always but when I opened the package there was this big price tag on the front of the book advertising it for $16.02. I thought I was ordering a new book and am upset that this price is stuck on the book! I did try to take it off and now I have a sticky mess on the front of the book. Would like a book that is new please. I am looking forward to the recipes and the lifestyle change, no stickers.

I saw this cookbook at clinic was having chemotherapy. The recipes looked good so I bought it for her.

The first ten pages are worth the purchase... An easy honest look at real human proportions. Recipes are good and well explained. Great to have above the stove.
