I bought this along with another book as throw away gifts for my little cousins. The other book was unicorn themed so I thought okay that will be good for girls and this one is more general so that’s why I bought it for my other cousin. I was a little more apprehensive with this one because he is a little younger. Though, I am so used to this brand now, I don’t really want to deviate. So many coloring books are illustrated half-heartedly and so when you find a good one it is best to stick with it. The designs are detailed enough that I am hoping that it will hold his interest. He is quite energetic so I doubt it will hold for it very long but it should be enough that he will get some enjoyment out of it.

 Beautiful designs and plenty of them! Mandalas, animals, unicorns, oh my!My 7-year-old had to get in on the action right away and did the giraffe. I think it took me about 45 minutes to do the elephant, so you probably have a good month of coloring here, even using markers instead of colored pencils. I got three at once, and now each of us have one to color when it is too rainy outside to play.We are so happy with Pat Woods' books, and totally worth the price paid!

I like the variety in detail so I can pick and choose designs based upon how much time and attention I want to put in to my coloring. The book is bound, and the pages are not perforated, but you can easily cut out your completed work if desired. If you’re looking for a stress relieving evening activity - look no further than this one. The price is great, the designs are stellar, and it is delivered quickly! Buy this book! You wont be disappointed!


Based on the many good reviews I read on Amazon, I am disappointed with the quality of this book. The paper quality is low, and the images and print are poor. I've colored a couple of pictures so far, and my markers bleed through the paper. Also, when I use Prismacolor Premier soft-core pencils, the image lines smear when using a blending pencil. This book is not nearly as nice as many of my other coloring books. I won't be buying any more books from this publisher.

There are plenty of designs in the stress relieving color for anyone to choose from. The pictures on the pages vary in size, there are some that take up the whole page and some that are just about a half page to color. Although the pages are not perforated I used a pair of scissors to cut the page out of the book. This book offers a variety of animals, nature, and mandalas, so this coloring book will keep anyone busy for a long while! Also the price of this book is great for how many color pages it offers. I can’t wait to continue color this book through the month!

This adult coloring book is huge and includes 90 unique designs, I absolutely love it!! There is a wide range of images and they are all very beautiful. Some designs have very intricate details and they allow you to focus on your coloring and it helps you to de-stress. I love all of the designs in this book and there is a great variety of designs so that you have a lot to choose from, depending on what you are in the mood for. My daughter also loves this coloring book and uses it when she is having anxiety. It helps her a lot, and we both enjoy this book greatly.

This is a great book with a variety of pictures and designs to color. There are animals and mandalas that range in complexity from simple to very detailed. Many of the pictures are unicorns, so if you are a fan of these creatures this is definitely the book for you.I used pens to color and was pleased to see that the paper was thick so that there wasn't any bleeding through. I like the fact that the pictures aren't overwhelming in their details but still interesting to work on. With so many options, this book will keep me busy for a while.

Pat Woods is at the top of her game with this new book. The designs are fresh and easy to follow and customize. I always look forward to getting her new offerings. The book arrived in the mail the day that I was having some girlfriends over so we made a party of it. With 90 unique designs in a wide variety of subjects, each of us was able to choose a few pages to color while enjoying our wine and snacks. It was such a hit with my friends that we have decided to do it on a monthly basis.

Chilton will not let you down. It's handy to have mainly for the torque specs. My complaint about this one is it isn't focused so much on the 240SX. I use it for torque spec reference though so it is no big issue. The 240sx Factory Service Manual (FSM) is easy enough to find for free if you know how to use a search engine. But still this Chilton is invaluable to have beside you when your hands are greasy.

Good Book, I couldn't put it down; I read it from cover to cover.... Nah, not really, LOLIt arrived in good condition and price was reasonable.

This manual is highly recommended along with youtube, when it comes to repairing your car.

Put the wrong fluid in my clutch resevoir an needed directions on how to replace the parts I had damaged.This manual was EXACTLY what I needed to complete the repairs. Very thorough instructions and pictures. Saved me hundreds in mechanic repair costs!

i am a beginning diyer. simply put, what i already know is in the book, what i don't is missing. it's ok to have it as a reference, but dont expect too much.ps. if you are looking for the 240sx, chances are that you can download a "factory service manual" somewhere on the web, maybe free. that's much better than this one.

Knowing that this book had previously been used in a mechanics garage I was a bit hesitant to buy, but the price was to good to pass up so I gave it a shot. I was very pleased with the condition of the book. It was exactly as the description stated and was well worth every dollar spent. I would not only buy this book again but I will likely be ordering from the distributor again.

The book starts off with great promises and a very exciting premise - that cognitive skills or core executive function is a very distinct capability from mere intelligence or IQ, that there are three distinctive processes that lead to improved cognition, namely developing strategic brain habits, strengthening integrated reasoning skills, and improving creative or innovative thinking, and lastly, that there are specific practices you can follow to see a tangible improvement in your own level of core executive function.The first section of the book posits that the frontal lobe is the seat of executive intelligence and that this faculty can be improved. the second section is the core of the content and describes how to improve the three core processes of strengthening strategic brain habits, enhancing integrated reasoning and innovative thinking. The next the sections are special cases of the same principles, and talk about how these principles apply in different age cohorts, and in individuals with brain damage.So far so good. My big disappointment with the book was that there was less actionable content in the core section of the book that describes exactly what you are supposed to do to improve these processes. I think the author has a lot more content than she has included in the book, given that she is a respected researcher and provides fascinating nuggets of such actionable steps, as for example, on page 99 where she asks the reader to list ten themes from a historical passage, or provides case studies from her practice. However, too much space is devoted to why a certain process is important or what specific benefits accrue from improving it. My instinct was to say 'Enough already. I KNOW that , that's why I bought the book. Now can we get down to business please", and yet I was left wanting at the end of the second section. She also falls into the trap of corporate-speak on several occasions, as for example, in this gem "Zoom deep and wide - Formulate broader novel applications with bold, deep, more strategic thinking". Wow!That was inspiring but unfortunately left me few clues on steps 1,2, and 3 to enable me to do so...and this from the core section on enhancing integrated reasoning (Page 105 - the Know Brainer summary). I had the exact same sense of disappointment of great intentions and less-than-outstanding execution across the book. One can't help getting the creeping suspicion that this book was written as brochure-ware to enhance credibility.All told, I give it three stars because at the very least for me it articulated clearly the difference between "smarts", i.e. IQ and cognitive or core executive function. It also provided a useful framework in terms of the three core elements and some starter suggestions on how to improve them. I deduct two stars because I am still left the work of creating a very actionable plan starting tomorrow morning that I can use to significantly enhance these processes for myself in a meaningful way.

There were multiple reasons why I gave this book a relatively low rating. The most important of which, is that the author seemed to have a difficult time explaining her concepts. I found a few take away nuggets, but felt like I was panning for gold to bring them to light. There is also a lot of repitition, so much so, that each "new" topic as one progressed through the chapters sounded a lot like a repeat of the earlier material. Even the examples, were just a rewording of what one had just read instead of adding some take away details one might apply to their own circumstances. And one last comment, too much of the text was taken up with promotional (motivational?) verbage that gave one the feeling that you were being sold snake oil.I would not recommend this book to anyone who is looking for some insite as to how one might increase their brain's creativity, energy or focus.

I never finished it. What was said in the first 100 pages could have been said in 10. A lot of repetitions and few actual suggestions. It reads like a sales pitch for you to go take part in their program.

Great and clear guidance from current research on the new thinking about thinking. Very useful and practical and realistic guidance for all audiences to achieve a brain's full potential. You will forget the myth that we use only 10% of our brain power. What is not used is under your control and it is most encouraging because it is pretty simple to really move toward your full potential. You just gotta do it.

Pretty good book. I am a to-the-point person and I already had a leg-up in the general area. So, for me the book was a little too verbose. But I will recommend this to others.

it is okay but it can be better

I bulldozed through the first third of this padded text before any exercises were presented. But those were vague and examples were so sketchy or non-existent that I struggled to put them into practice. Really, the first two sections were totally superfluous and unnecessary to the text and then when the main dish was finally served it proved a meager meal, insufficient to feed a malnourished mind. I stuck a fork in it but gave up after getting my fill of empty calories.

I loved the premise, but I guess I'm the kind of person who really needs this, because I couldn't stay interested in it long enough to finish it. Perhaps it would have been better had I read the book itself, instead of trying to listen to an audiobook.

I preordered this book early after buying Ed Yong’s I Contain Multitudes. I was happy first that it shipped a few weeks ahead of schedule! It was one of those you may also like suggestions (the ones that seem like the computer is reading your mind … ) In this case the suggestion was right on. In fact I love it! I Contain Multitudes is a great book too, but one thing I like about this is all of the images and photographs, especially because for me, I have to see to believe everything that microbes do to tell you the truth! Each chapter starts with a story that continues and melds with the images for the rest of the chapter. The chapters are entertaining and fascinating in terms of the scientific information. I’ve challenged myself to read 10 popular science books per year every year for the past 5 years and this is one of those rare ones that has just the right balance for me. The images are large and frequent and printed on nice thick paper, but never too many that it distracted me from the story. I also like how the book goes into the origin of life, colony forms of microbes, Yellowstone and even the formation of Earth. It's not only microbes but putting microbes into context of Earth’s history and there is a big section about possible life on other planets in the universe. I am a big fan of astronomy and the Carl Sagan and was happy to see even his name appear in the text. Not to mention cheese, chocolate, wine .. all the best foods, which I never really realized are actually made by microbes are in their own chapter and photographed. I know it will be one of those books I will want to keep around and keep going back to even after the first time reading. Right now the book it sitting open on my desk with one of the full page spreads from NASA of the moon Europa. Cannot recommend enough.

Microbes are everywhere, this has become a common trope that nearly everyone is aware of. But what is a microbe? How do they look? How do they live and what effects do they have on our lives? This book lets you experience the humbling reality we can not see without access to the authors' tools and knowledge.2. Wonderfully beautiful and original pictures and illustrationsThe authors have created and selected pictures for this book that transport their own fascination for microbes and translate it into something that other scientists, children and amateurs that might become scientists and really anyone that wants to know more about bacteria, fungi, tardigrades, cheese, plants and the earth as a whole. I will definitely take this book to my little nephews and just look at the pictures with them.3. It is educational and full of detail but doesn't loose the wow-factorThe succession of the topics is very deliberately chosen and even someone just flipping through to look at the pictures will find themselves going back into the texts to know more about the pictures and why two pictures are side by side. Rarely does the book go into more detail than I wanted before moving on to the next topic. The authors are both experts in their field and enthusiasts, which results in a very comprehensive, passionate and informative book. Additional details and a lot of very interesting information about the technology behind the creation of the pictures is moved to the appendix, which helps streamlining the main text but also makes the appendix feel like an extra treat.Even if you think you know enough about microbes, except for the micopia in Amsterdam, they have never been this pretty! I heavily recommend this book.

Buy this book as a Christmas gift for anyone who is interested in nature. The photos are stunning. The book is an absolute treat.

The authors not only convey so much information and especially new discoveries in microbiology but they clearly also appreciate the beauty of this world and microbiological life. It's always a pleasure to see professionals also appreciate the beauty of the topic they discuss. This book is really a journey and every page contains both new information and also wonderful photography that comes along with it. I have now purchased several copies all of which I will use as gifts. The authors pay much attention to little details. For instance the format of the book is perfect for its purpose. Anyone interested in the world of microbes should read this wonderful piece.
